Dr Michael W Nicholson is an international economist, retired diplomat, and the Founder and Chief Economist of Pioneer 101. With a PhD in economics and decades of global development experience, Michael has advised on over $500M in programs across Africa, South Asia, and the U.S.
He brings a rare combination of diplomacy, economics, and strategic insight, having led teams that shaped investment frameworks, negotiated trade deals, and implemented complex reforms. Michael’s mission is to connect talent and opportunity through sports, education, and investment, leveraging his experience to advise founders, NGOs, and governments.
